Fun for the Whole Barn From June 15-July 15

The USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Stable Challenge kicked off earlier this month! When at least three junior and/or amateur students per trainer take the online Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Practice Quiz, the trainer’s barn will be in the running for an award package. Plus, get bonus points by taking the official Horsemanship Quiz Challenge quizzes. On July 15, at the end of the 30-day challenge, the highest-scoring trainer per zone wins a prize!

✅Knight has taught many children and adults to ride in the last few years. He has found a second career as a steady and dependable, nearly unflappable, kind soul who is comfortable doing anything from the lead-line, to poles, to the 2'6" Hunter Derby or Equitation. He figures out how to get to the other side of the jump almost no matter what mistake the rider might make, with a good sense of self-preservation for both him and his rider. Knight has participated in many IEA and IHSA events, been dressed up for Halloween and taken many kids through their first-ever horse show. Being a true native of the Pacific Northwest, his very favorite activity is wallowing in a mud puddle in turnout. Though a favorite lesson assignment, everyone knows that if Knight has been outside, you better come early for your lesson because there will be a lot of mud to remove!

Become a USHJA Affiliate Member

Join a local USHJA Affiliate Organization to compete in USHJA Outreach Series and Festivals and for the opportunity to be nominated for the USHJA Affiliate Championships in Las Vegas. It is not required to be a USHJA member to participate in Affiliate or Outreach classes. 

Equine Safety Vest Research

A joint project with the USHJA and the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab

The use of chest protection in equestrian sports has become common but there is little equestrian-specific research and testing available for equestrian air vests. Advancing your safety is critical and that's why we are doing the research.

The purpose of the Equestrian Safety Vest Research campaign is to review current equestrian vest protection standards, investigate the most common types of torso impacts and injuries, evaluate current testing methodologies, develop a biofidelic impact protocol for evaluating air and standard protective vests, and finally, test and rate the performance of current chest protection systems for the equestrian community.
