USHJA Affiliate Organization News
Montana Hunter Jumper Association
Pam Rozell is a sitting Board member of the Montana Hunter Jumper Association, a USHJA Affiliate in Zone 9 in Montana. She started jumping four months prior to her 60th birthday in 2018! Always an adventurous person, she took this on as a challenge with the knowledge of the risk of the sport and wanting to overcome her fears by tackling a new discipline and immersing herself in it. She worked tirelessly with her warmblood, Bravado, who was getting up in age as well, so it was a perfect pairing. The two won the 18” Over Fence Championship in 2019, as well as 2’ Long Stirrup. She was [one of three Zone 9 competitors to be] featured in The Chronicle Of The Horse's Championship edition in 2020.
Pam is a former Miss Georgia in 1977 and competed in Miss America in 1978. She has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of South Carolina with a Minor in Music. She was cast on Broadway in the musical 42nd Street with the Los Angeles Company. She was a headline entertainer on seven major cruise lines and a headline singer in Monte-Carlo, France. She has recorded 10 a;bums and is a published author. She and her husband, Michael, have been in ministry together for 30 years and they take care of children all over the world. They reside in Whitefish, Montana, with their horses and dogs.
Pam has learned so much by sitting on the MHJA Board for the past three years. She hopes to continue jumping as long as she can [and pass the love of the Hunter/Jumper world onto the younger generation.] “Dare to dream, it is never too late,” Pam excitedly proclaims!
