We're helping make sure you know the important rule changes effective December 1, 2022, for the 2023 competition year with Know Before You Show, a simple guide of rule changes taking effect that affect Hunter/Jumper competition.
The USHJA Annual Meeting returns to an in-person event this year at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, December 12-15. Not able to join in person? No problem! Select meetings will be available to join virtually! The Zone Council will meet during Annual Meeting.
Wildcard applications are open through December 31! Wildcard applications and the application fee may be submitted by Juniors, Amateurs or Professionals who have earned minimum qualifying points for the Markel/USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships and Markel/USHJA Platinum Jumper Championships.
Emma Friedman, 15, from Chiloquin, Oregon, returned to the podium at the 2022 USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Nationals, earning the title of champion this year after coming in second overall in 2021.
"This win means the world to me. I have been in a small barn in the middle of nowhere all of my life, so having the opportunity to get my name out and having people know who I am just incredible," said Friedman of her win. "I really want to go as far as I can in this industry."
Montana Hunter Jumper Association Affiliate Spotlight

Choate and her Standardbred, WH Apocalypse, recently competed in the USHJA Affiliate Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a nomination from the Montana Hunter Jumper Association. The pair won one of the Bling Awards and took home reserve in the 0.7m Adult Affiliate Jumpers. Ace and Choate have been partners since college, doing a little bit of everything together. After having a great last competition outing together, Ace will go enjoy the life of retirement.
