Member Spotlight: Zone 9 Golden Backstage Pass Winner - Shelby Kremer
"Last year was my first year showing and I was doing cross rails on my pony, Apache. My barn-mates went to Nationals last year and told me how exciting it was. I made it my goal to qualify in 2022. My trainer, Sally Parks, knew this and helped me tremendously. If not for her and Jessie Klinger believing in me, I may not have made my goal. I made the commitment to attend as many shows as I could and improve my riding skills," said Kremer on the start of her journey towards the Golden Backstage Pass.
"I attended a show over Spring Break and 3 Outreach Shows in Montana. After each show, I appreciated the confidence each one gave me and the lessons I learned."
"My horses, Gilly and Quest, have taught me so much. I heard one way to qualify was with the Backstage Pass. Our state is in a Zone with states that hold shows almost weekly. I did not think I would be able to earn the Gold Pass. I was focused on doing the best I could so I would have a shot at making it to Nationals. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I'm so thankful for the opportunity and cannot wait to walk the Grand Prix course, and of course, compete in Las Vegas! Thank you USHJA and Zone 9 for the opportunity," exclaimed Kremer on winning the Zone 9 Golden Backstage Pass for the USHJA National Championships held in Las Vegas, Nevada next month in November.
