Piper's favorite thing about the Outreach program was that it gave her an opportunity to be successful at her riding level for the year. It also gave her the confidence to grow and learn. This year she been competing in the 2'6" Children's Hunters and enjoys it a lot! Her goal is to place well in the OHJA Medal at the end of the year.
She began riding when a woman at church offered to let her ride a pony at her farm. She taught Piper the basics of riding and horse care. "I am so grateful to her for the things that she taught me."
"The USHJA allows me to see those in my world outside of my hometown and barn and aspire to the accomplishments of those ahead of me in the sport. It gives a lot of visibility to others who are just like me!"
