📣Send USHJA Your Competition Results and Prize Lists
USHJA requests that all rated competitions copy USHJA on all competition results and digital prize lists as you would provide for other organizations. All materials relating to USHJA competitions should be emailed to results@ushja.org.
If you have any questions, please contact Steve Curtis at scurtis@ushja.org or 859-225-6731.
Effective December 1, 2023, horse ownership transfers and lease registrations must be completed with both USEF and USHJA before the start of the competition in order for points to count toward qualifying for USEF and USHJA Programs or Championships as well as Hunter and/or Jumper National and Zone Horse of the Year awards.
Print and hang this helpful flyer to help your competitors!
Don't forget to submit Handy Hunter Challenge class results and proof of prize money pay-out to zones@ushja.org. Once both are received, prize money reimbursement will be issued according to the Zone Handy Hunter Challenge Specifications.
Riders may compete on a total of four ponies but no more than two of any one size.
A minimum of six ponies must complete the first round for HOTY points to be awarded.
Competition management will remit complete overall results, including prize money awarded, to USHJA and the Federation within 10 days of the conclusion of the competition.
Each class must have a minimum of two judges. All judges will sit together and provide one score. One judge must be an R judge; the other may be either an R or r judge.
The USHJA 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal is a two-phase competition with the Jumping Phase to count as 70% and the Flat Phase to count as 30%. The competition shall be judged on the rider’s equitation style, technical merit, judgment, and execution of an efficient, time-saving pace and track. The course must include a dry Liverpool.
Finals
NEW for 2024! All horses entered in the USHJA 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal Final must jog for soundness during the Official Jog held within 24 hours of the start of the first round. This jog will be run in a manner similar to an FEI jog, with the Jog judging panel consisting of the competition veterinarian and a minimum of one judge officiating the class. See the specifications for detailed information.
USHJA Equitation Finals
For all 2024 USHJA Equitation Finals, one of the “R” Registered judges must be approved by the USHJA Equitation Task Force prior to the Final.
Jumper Sections
With the update in nomenclature renaming the Children's Jumper and Adult Amateur Jumper as Junior and Amateur Jumpers (height included), please be reminded to refer to the cross-entry restrictions for those and other Junior/Amateur Jumper sections in the Zone specifications.
⭐Licensed Officials Resources
USHJA keeps up-to-date information on the Licensed Officials’ Resource page to keep you in the know while you’re on the go.
Due for a clinic in 2024? Virtual and in-person clinics for judges and course designers are posted. Judges and course designers must be USHJA Active/Competing members to renew their license(s).
The USEF offers licensed official grants to applicants and current officials wishing to apply for a promotion. These grants are intended to reduce financial barriers for USEF or U.S. FEI officials to complete application requirements. Individuals should take advantage of this opportunity to attend a training session or apprentice at a location where they would normally not be able to travel. All 2024 Licensed Official Grant Applications must be received before March 1, 2024.
Is your facility hosting a mounted or unmounted clinic? Getting your clinic posted to the USHJA Directory of Clinics is easy! Clinics on the Directory are promoted on the USHJA website, Zone eNews and social media.
