Extraordinary Rule Changes Enforced December 1

A set of Extraordinary Rule Changes will become effective beginning December 1, 2023, and affect Active/Competing USHJA members. These rule changes outline the requirements for changes to horse ownership, lease registration and change of name requests to horses which must be recorded with both USHJA and USEF for program eligibility, points and awards purposes.

To avoid experiencing bad show points and program eligibility issues, beginning December 1, 2023, please ensure changes to horse ownership, lease registrations and change of name requests to horses are recorded with both USHJA and USEF. 

Summary of Rule Change

Rule Number

All transfer of ownership requests and fees must be submitted to both USHJA and USEF.

All horse name change requests and fees must be submitted to both USHJA and USEF.

All lease registrations and fees must be submitted to both USHJA and USEF.

In order for points to count, one owner of the horse or one owner of the Stable/Farm/Corporation that owns the horse must be an Active/Competing individual member of USHJA.

In order for points to count, all ownership, name change and lease requests and fees must be submitted to both USHJA and USEF on or before the first day of competition.
