Markel/USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships

Provide riders with a competitive team experience and an opportunity to earn Zone Horse of the Year points in the Children's and Adult Amateur Jumper (1.10/1.15m) and 1.20/1.25m Junior and Amateur. 

Markel/USHJA Platinum Jumper Championships

Zones 9 & 10

November 29-December 4

Thermal, Calif.

Part of the USHJA Emerging Jumper Program, the 1.30/1.35m category has moved from the Zone Jumper Team Championships to the Platinum Jumper Championships in addition to the 1.40/1.45m. For Professionals, Juniors or Amateurs.

USHJA Hunter Team Challenge-Central

November 8-13

National Sunshine Series II
Desert International Horse Park
Thermal, Calif.

Offers a unique team experience for riders competing in the 2’-2’6” Children’s Pony Hunters, 2’6” Low Child/Adult Hunters and 3’ Children’s/Adult Amateur Hunter divisions. Riders can earn bonus Zone HOTY points in their respective divisions.

Gotham North/FEI North American Youth Jumping Championships

August 9-14

Great Lakes Equestrian Festival

Traverse City, Mich.

Championships for Children, Pre-Junior Junior and Young Rider categories held in an international  format featuring teams fielded by zone as well as individual competition. 

USEF Pony Jumper National Championships

August 10-14

USEF Pony Finals

Lexington, Ky.

Junior pony riders compete over multiple days of competition. Features teams fielded by zone and individual competition at a maximum fence height of 1.15m.

Neue Schule/USEF Junior Jumper National Championships (Prix des States)

October 13-15

Pennsylvania National Horse Show

Harrisburg, Pa.

A competition for juniors featuring teams fielded by zone and individual championships at a maximum fence height of 1.45m.

Outreach Member Highlight: Anna Linde

Anna Linde, of Washougal, Washington, participated in the USHJA Outreach Long Stirrup and Equitation divisions. 

What did you enjoy about participating in the Outreach program in 2021?

I’ve loved showing my new mare and building a strong partnership. I’ve been out of the show ring for a few years and Outreach allowed me to move at my pace and enjoy top notch shows at a reasonable cost.

Tell us how you got involved in the sport.

I have ridden since I was 8, when I got my first pony for $100. I did 4-H, played polo in college at WSU, and finally, at 23, got to start in Hunters.

What’s your favorite riding memory?

I think my favorite memory is competing in my first Hunter Derby on my now-retired gelding. Jumping the natural fences, logs and high options in the “big ring” was amazing!

What are riding goals for this year?

My riding goals include moving up a division.

What do you enjoy most about the USHJA community?

I enjoy the common love of horses that USHJA members all have.

New Opportunities for Adult Amateur Equitation Riders

USHJA 3’3” Adult Jumping Seat Medal

Provides Adult Amateur exhibitors an opportunity to showcase their equitation skills over a 3'3" jumper-style course and a flat phase with bicoastal finals. View the calendar. 

USHJA Gladstone Cup Equitation Classic for Amateurs

New for Adult Amateurs in 2023! The three-round class combines the precision of equitation and handiness of hunters over a course set at 3’. Qualifying classes begin June 1, 2022 with inaugural Championship being held in 2023.

Montana Hunter Jumper Association 

Montana Hunter Jumper Association is geared up for the 2022 show season. We currently have tentative show dates for Big Sky Classic's Jump Into Seasons' Series, Rebecca Farm and Five Valley Pony Club.

Big Sky Classic: 

May 7-9, Jump Into Spring

August 6-7, Jump Into Summer

Sept. 17-18, Jump Into Autumn

(Jump Into shows will be Outreach again for 2022)

Rebecca Farm:

May 21-22, a two-day Hunter/Jumper show

Five Valley Pony Club:

May 14, Schooling Show

Montana H/J community is happy to welcome back clinician Sally Collins for two clinics; 

June 3-5 and July 15-17, both in Hamilton. A few spots are still available. 

MHJA would like to thank our members for such a wonderful turnout in 2021, and we look forward to the upcoming show season. Please set aside November 5 for our Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet.

Rules are constantly changing and evolving, therefore we ask everyone showing and working at shows be aware and knowledgeable of current rules. Hope to see you at the shows in Big Sky State!
