Lilly Yakovakis

Q: What did you enjoy about participating in the Outreach program in 2021?

A: To show locally but still be able to track points nationally.

Q: Which divisions and/or sections did you compete in this year?

A: Hunter 2'3'' and Equitation 2'3''

Q: Tell us briefly about how you got involved in the sport.

A: When I was around 6 years old, I went on my first ever trail ride. I started going to summer camps where I received some lessons. Afterwards, I started going to a barn and riding more where I finally went to my first show. Here, I met my first pony Ben and we worked together to where I am now. 

Q: What’s your favorite riding memory?

A: Last year I worked really hard with my pony and we earned champion for my division for the year. It was my first trophy!

Q: What are your riding goals for this year?

A: My riding goals for this year are to move up and ride at the 2'6'' level. 

Q: What do you enjoy most about the USHJA community?

A: Being able to show locally and have access to many learning resources. My mom likes the partner discounts offered as well!
